Selma Daffre is a well known painter, printmaker and teacher in her hometown Sao Paulo, Brasil.
In the Seventy's she was the first printmaker in Brazil to install a motorized press and since than she is exhibiting her work widely in Europe, North America and Brazil. In 2002 she was Visiting Artist in the Malaspina Printmaker Society in Vancouver.

Her work is often influenced by brasilian poetry (she designed numerous book covers for editors in Sao Paulo) and the colors of rural Brasil.

Her highly aesthetic work displays a great sense of form and composition.
